Why I own Firearms
“Let the one whom has no sword sell his cloak and buy one,” Jesus said to his disciples during their last meal together before Jesus was arrested and executed. The statement is recorded in Luke 22, and it must have been a head turner, both to his disciples and early hearers of the Gospel.
In speaking to his disciples Jesus knew the world wasn’t peaceful and there may come a time in which a man may have to defend himself. He may be camping and he may encounter a wild animal such as a bear, fox, etc. I also have a concealed carry permit. Despite having a felony conviction since I didn’t use a firearm in the commission of that felony, the judge allowed me to keep my firearms.
Jesus didn’t condone violence, but he also didn’t want you to be a victim of crime. There was an incident at my sisters convenience store. This was before my bond was revoked. I came down one night to stock the coolers. That was my job from eight pm until I finished. I came down on a ruckus. I always carried at night and day given the neighborhood. As I walked into the store from the storage closet someone was standing over the clerk pumping ammunition into him. I bumped into a rack of chips and drew gun fire from the robbers. Both were shooting at me by this time. I stayed low and pulled out my 40 caliber smith and wesson and returned fire. I hit both of them before they left the store.
