This is an excellent piece, Joan. I faced discrimination as a gay youth in the 1960's. I was ostracized, and at fourteen I was ex-communicated from Liberty Baptist Church. Jerry Falwell did the honors himself. I have no issues with gay rights. I don't like them ram rodded down anyone's throat, just like religion. I personally don't believe that a transgender male should compete against women. It's not fair to the women, who will more than like lose to the stronger transgender male and could potentially lose scholarships because of it or a spot on the Olympic team. That is why I for one am glad that the International Olympic committee has banned transgender males from competing in women's events. I hope when there are enough transgender athletes then we can have a competition until then no.
