Roanoke’s Major Flood Event

I come from Roanoke, Virginia. In November 1985, we had the worse flooding in the city’s history. 6.61 inches of rain fell on the City of Roanoke in a 24 hour period on November 4th. Market Square in downtown Roanoke was approximately 3 to 4 feet underwater. The picture below is Market Square and as you can tell it is flooded quite badly.
