Perfect sportsmanship!!!!!!!

In a game where the stakes are very high, winner gets to keep playing and the loser goes home, it’s hard to see or understand the human side. Today in a game between Oklahoma and Texas, the pitcher from Texas had a pitch get away from him. He hit the batter in the head. It is hard enough being a ten- or eleven-year-old and have this much pressure. It is even harder to be the pitcher. The last thing you want to do, is to plunk someone in the head.

After the batter took his base, he could see that the pitcher had lost control of his emotions and was terribly upset. The boy couldn’t stop crying either. The player from Oklahoma called time and walked over to the pitcher's mound. He hugged the pitcher and told him he was doing a good job and to calm down. He also reassured the pitcher he was ok.

The coach for Texas ended up removing the pitcher because he couldn’t settle down after he hit the batter. But the kid that came out to comfort his opponent after he was hit, this is the epitome of sportsmanship. This boy deserves an award for sportsmanship.
