Only a teacher would understand
You have been working with little Jason for weeks on his scout oath and scout laws. He always seems to get tongue tied towards the end or mix them up. He walks away and you see disappointment on his face. You work with him for days, weeks and sometimes months to help him get this right, but each time disappointment once more. You stay over and work with Jason to help him.
Then one night, you and Jason go through the oath an the laws and he repeats it verbatim. Finally all the hard work you and Jason put in together has paid off, but you step back from the spotlight and let him get all the praise. That night before he leaves he runs to you and gives you a big hug, looks up at you and smiles and says thank you. He turns and walks away. My job isn’t as important as the teachers, but at that moment I felt like I just earned a teachers salary with that hug.
