My favorite day of my life
In 1983, when baseball was a new commodity in lower downtown Denver, I was part of history. On that April day I worked at Mile High Stadium as a ticket taker and usher. In attendance were 80,000 plus fans who had been waiting years for baseball to come to Denver. Today it was finally happening.
In 1983, the Colorado Rockies also set the Major League attendance record. 1993 Mile High Stadium, the Rockies averaged 55,350 fans per game during their inaugural year, drew in 4,483,350, fans during the entire season, while doubling the attendance of all other clubs of 2,637,470.
Baseball attendance for all teams in 1993. The Rockies were an expansion team.
