I will start with one of my favorite groups. They were a brother/sister duo called the Carpenters. Karen was referred to one take Karen because she was pitch perfect and never had to record a song twice. We lost her in 1983 when she lost her battle with anorexia/bulimia.

Elvis was a genre unto himself. He sang rock, country, gospel, blues. This song was on his country album and the song is called Just pretend. Elvis always took time for his fans as evidenced in this video.

Yes, I am repeating some artist, but I can’t keep them to just one song. Bob Seger, in my opinion was the most underrated performer of this time period. This song is one of many favorites that Seger sings. This one is called Shame on the Moon. Though this song came out when I was twenty, I still love how he incorporates the organ and keyboards into all of his songs.
