Challenge Accepted

A: is for Arial my niece. She had the strength to come out as gay. She is standing firm against pressure from her mother. I support her, because I am gay also.

B: is for the Blue Ridge Mountains, pictured above. An area I love to visit frequently. I spent many week ends camping there as a child.

C: is for Chelsea my youngest granddaughter, who is fifteen. I am very proud of her and her accomplishments. She is in ROTC and they used her writings for the military ball. She has survived a suicide attempt two years ago. Chelsea is very attached to her grandfather. Cis also for CJ my youngest grandson, who is in his terrible two’s.

D: is for Donnie Ray my nephew. I am very proud of him for over coming all his challenges. He had to have a trach tube and feeding tube from birth until age seven. He is learning disabled on the autism spectrum. His father died when he was six, I’ve been his role model ever since.

E: is for Elizabeth, my oldest granddaughter. She is thirteen months older than her sister Chelsea and two months younger than her cousin Arial. I am proud of her accomplishments. She is in marching band and carries the bass drum, which is as big as she is. She also survived a suicide attempt three months before her sister. Elizabeth is very attached to her grandfather.
