Yes, we have many prisoners who are doing way too much time and being farmed out. Trustees makes $1.25/hr. In jails and prisons, they don't even provide you with the most basic health care if need be. When I was in jail, I had a severe flare up of cellulitis in both legs. My legs and ankles were so swollen, that when I went to court they could barely get the ankle cuffs on me. When my lawyer and prosecutor saw this, they brought it to the judges attention. The judge ordered the cuffs removed and admonished the sherriffs department for putting cuffs on someone in my condition. They said just following policy your honor.
