I read the book Stonewall while I was in jail. It tells how gays and lesbians stood up to the police and fought for our LGBTQ rights and acceptance. I was only eight. My adult lover tried to explain things to me but they were too complicated for me to understand at the time. Too many gay men and women have lost their lives for these rights. We won't back down. Maybe we will have to take a page out of Mr. Kings book and March down main street in peaceful protest to get our message out again
