FBI foils assassination attempt

Today the FBI arrested and charged seven ISIS terrorist in a plot to assassinate former President George Bush. This should worry every American despite political affiliation. The purported plan called for the assassins — at least some coming from Iraq, Turkey, Egypt and Denmark — to enter via the southern border on visitor visas from Mexico. And you wonder why Trump wanted to close the southern border from Mexico.

With everything that has happened this week, this story kind of took a back seat to Uvalda, Texas. In my opinion one child killed in a school shooting is one too many. But when terrorist are trying to kill a former president no matter who he is it makes you take notice. This time it was George Bush they were going after. I didn’t like a lot of his policies or his agenda. But he was my president for eight years and he deserves to be protected. This is why they have secret service protection for the rest of their lives.

George Bush led us back from the devastating attacks on September 11. The image I remember most is him sitting there reading to second graders as he was informed of the attacks. He led us into Iraq and this is why the terrorist was plotting to kill him. I would say the same about Obama who I really didn’t like, but then again he was my president for eight years,
