Colorado Avalanche wins the Stanley Cup for their third time

This song is sung when the Avalanche have a good lead in the third period. It is a victory song. Should the Avalanche win tonight, it will be the first time since 2001 that the Avalanche last hoisted the Stanley Cup. This is the third appearance in the Stanley Cup finals for the Avalanche.

Tonight, the Colorado Avalanche have clinched their third Stanley Cup in as many appearances. With the final from Tampa being Colorado 2 and Tampa 1, the Avalanche took the series at 4–2 in the best of seven games.

The Avalanche rallied for a victory for the 10th time in the playoffs to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 2–1 in Game 6 Sunday night and end the two-time champions’ reign.

Colorado star Nathan MacKinnon had his best game of the series with a goal and an assist in the second period to help the Avalanche clinch the franchise’s third Stanley Cup with a 16–4 playoff record. Source: USA Today Sports
