It is reported that Vladimir Putin has used cluster bombs that have been banned for use, which constitutes a war crime. Belarus has agreed to join Russia in the war against the Ukraine, who has done nothing wrong. At this moment tanks from Belarus are forming on the Ukrainian border, ready to invade on a moments notice.
Today, President Zelensky has signed an application to join the European Union. He asked for immediate entrance into the European Union. Zelensky also ordered all prisoners with combat experience released from prison. He said from a moral stand point he didn’t want to, but right now the defense of the country took precedence.
Zelensky was pictured signing a document associated with the application earlier today, hours after he made an appeal to the EU to grant his country ‘immediate’ membership as part of a special procedure in the face of the Russian assault.
The Ukrainian leader — a former comedian who came to power in 2019 — gave the impassioned statement in a video address as Russian and Ukrainian negotiators prepared to sit down for their first face-to-face talks since Russian leader Vladimir Putin ordered troops to invade last Thursday. A convoy of Belarusian tanks and troop carriers were seen queueing near the Ukrainian border today as officials from Moscow and Kyiv started peace talks.
Ukrainian President Vlodymyr Zelensky admitted he was not confident of a positive resolution, adding that he owed it to his people to at least try and engage.
He had been reticent to agree to talks in Belarus, a country used as a staging ground for the Russian invasion and which is now poised to join the war, offering instead to meet in Istanbul, Warsaw or Baku. Source Daily Mail.
Russia appears to have used banned cluster munitions to indiscriminately shell civilian areas in Ukraine’s east that had stood up to Vladimir Putin’s invasion in what would constitute a war crime.
Kharkiv, which has witnessed some of the heaviest fighting of the war so far, was hit by rockets fired from Russian positions on Monday — with video showing a shopping centre in the Serpnia area blanketed by explosions. A military source told MailOnline that the videos showed ‘cluster’ munitions had been used.
