American Snow Hinchee

They had to get the permission of the Chief of the tribe before they could get married. Back then inter racial marriages were highly frowned upon, whites and native Americans.
On Jul 29 1861, at New Castle, Virginia, American Hinchee enlisted as a Private in K Company, 46th Virginia Infantry, Confederate Army. American Snow Hinchey died Mar 17 1865, buried New Zion Cemetery, Waiteville, Monroe County, West Virginia. American died the day he was discharged. They found his body, along with others, in a creek.
